Discover hidden gems, independent businesses and exciting events taking place across the Square Mile and beyond. In the City helps visitors and workers get the most out of the City, showcasing its vibrant and varied offering. THERE are so many things happening around the City of London this month, as more and more workers return to the office. This month in… Cheapside SHOPPING / THE ROYAL EXCHANGE Update your winter wardrobe and get a head start on your festive shopping in Cheapside. Head to The Royal Exchange, one of London’s grandest and most iconic buildings for luxury shopping and all-day dining. Just a stone’s throw away from Aldgate Underground Station, Aldgate House is playing host to a pop-up gallery and the City’s first climbing wall. Check out Well, Well, Well an exhibition from nomadic gallerists and Aldgate locals Leyden Gallery which sees 12 artists Royal Exchange exploring the theme of wellness in unique ways. This month in… the Eastern City and the Fleet Street Quarter BUSINESS / BID PROPOSALS This month sees the formal launch of the BID Proposals for the Eastern City and the Fleet Street Quarter, which set out how a BID in each area would meet the needs of the business community ahead of the formal ballots to become business improvement districts. Both the EC Partnership and the Fleet Street Quarter are planning to become DISCOVER ALDGATE AND CHEAPSIDE WITH THE COMMUTER CLUB Have you joined the Commuter Club yet? Local businesses pay a special levy to their own respective BID, which lobbies for their interests and funds projects within the district’s boundaries. The EC Partnership and the Fleet Street Quarter have created their BID Proposals after hearing a range of views from local businesses in each footprint. Each of the BID proposals contain exciting plans for the future of the City, shaped by input from the business community.
